Winter Wonderland Tour

Welcome to Munich! After meeting up with the group at the airport we will travel together to the hotel where you have the choice to relax or head out to explore the magical Christmas Markets. Whether you rest or dive into the festive atmosphere, the first day is yours to enjoy at your own pace.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel we will start the day with a guided tour of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site.  Afterward, enjoy some free time to explore Munich's iconic sights or wander through the Christmas Markets. **Optional: Attend a German Sacrament Meeting at 9:30a

After a enjoying breakfast at the hotel we'll head out on a guided bike tour through Munich before boarding a scenic train in the afternoon to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a charming alpine town. After checking into our hotel, prepare for a unique torch-lit hike through the stunning Partnach Gorge, a magical experience as we explore the gorge under the glow of flickering torches. Truly an evening to remember!

Today, we’ll head to Zugspitze, the highest peak in Germany, for an exhilarating day of sledding on scenic runs. For those seeking extra thrills, there’s the option to ride the bobsled with a professional or unwind at the thermal spa with stunning alpine views. In the evening, we’ll explore the festive Christmas Markets in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where you can enjoy delicious food, browse charming stalls, and even take a magical sleigh ride through the winter wonderland.

You’ll begin the day with a scenic train ride from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Salzburg. After checking into our hotel and dropping off our bags you'll have some time to relax or go check out the beautiful Salzburg Christmas Markets before heading to the oldest restaurant in Europe, where you'll be served a traditional Austrian dinner and entertained by a live Mozart & Advent Christmas concert.  This is sure to be a pre-Thanksgiving celebration you will never forget!

You'll begin the day exploring the Hallein Salt Mines on a tour where you’ll experience thrilling underground slides & salt lakes. Back in Salzburg that evening you'll enjoy learning how to make pretzels & apple strudels in an private baking class where after the lesson you'll be treated to a live musical concert & a bowl of traditional goulash to enjoy with your baked goods.  In the evening the twinkling markets stalls will be yours to wander!

Today you'll have a choice of two unforgettable experiences. For fans of the iconic film, the Sound of Music, you can join a tour where you'll visit the locations that brought the beloved movie to life in the breathtaking Salzburg countryside. Or you may choose to embark on a day trip to Hallstatt, a fairytale village nestled between the Dachstein Alps and a serene lake.

In the evening you'll return to the charming Christmas Markets of Salzburg, where the air is filled with festive cheer, twinkling lights, and the scent of seasonal treats.

What an adventure! As the tour officially comes to an end, you can either choose to head back to Munich for a return flight home or choose to extend your stay with an additional night (or longer!) in Salzburg, Vienna, or Munich. Just let me know what you decide & I’d be happy to assist in arranging transportation & hotels for you in one of these beautiful cities before your flight home.
